Maryland, Virginia and DC Office Movers
If you’re an office manager who’s been charged with your company’s relocation, Artisan Movers can get the job done efficiently and effectively, and we’ll make you look good in the process.
There’s So Much to be Done, I Don’t Know Where to Start
There are a number of actions that you, as the move master, need to take well in advance of your move, and many of them are outside the purview of your moving company, but that doesn’t mean we don’t care. The sooner you contact us about your move, the sooner we can suggest a general information move checklist. Once you know where you stand with those tasks, we’ll get down to the serious business of organizing your office move.
Here are just a few general tasks you should include on your checklist:
- Order new furniture needed in new location
- Notify current property owner of your move date
- Arrange for telephone and internet installation
- Reserve elevator(s)for move day in both locations
In a best-case scenario, you will have already taken the internal pre-planning steps of…
1. appointing a coordinator from each department
2. identifying files and equipment requiring special treatment
3. determining the exact number of employees who will be moving
4. creating a complete list of all furniture, electronics, or machinery to be moved
5. researching local moving companies
If you haven’t yet completed the first four tasks and your move is less than three months away, it’s important to choose a moving company that’s ready, willing, and able to get you up to speed with the details so your move goes off without a hitch and on time.
The answer to number five is Artisan Movers.
What Services Does Artisan Movers Offer?
We provide both local and long distance moving services from our base of operations in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. As a family-owned and -operated company, we know that our reputation is everything, and we work hard with every move to continue to build our fine reputation.
We’ll come to your location and meet with you to discuss your upcoming move. We’ll survey your current space, calculate distance to your new location, identify the furniture, equipment, files to be moved, and provide you with a detailed estimate.
Once we come on board with your move, we’ll be firmly committed to the success of your relocation. We’ll move you from here to there, and we’ll do it professionally, respectfully, and as promised. You’ll be working with the same move coordinator from Artisan Movers from beginning to end who will be happy to answer any of your questions.
Usually, when a company moves, employees prefer to pack their own personal workspace, so we provide packing material and boxes of all sizes. You tell us how many you think you need, and we’ll deliver them in plenty of time.
If your business will require short-term storage, we can meet your need with a secure and climate cooled storage facility.
We offer packing and unpacking services, disassembly and installation of modular furniture, workstations, and shelving.
We provide floor and wall protection at both locations.
Whether you’re planning a corporate move to the other side of the country or a short hop to another floor in the same building, we provide the same attention to detail and commitment to your complete satisfaction.
Prior to the move date, we’ll provide large wastebaskets for each department for non-confidential material that needs to be disposed of rather than moved to your new location.
How Will the Movers Know What Goes Where at the New Location?
I have one word for you – Labels
Depending on the size of your business or corporate office, each department will be assigned a move label color. Enough colored labels for every piece of furniture and anticipated number of boxes will be provided about a week prior to your move.
As the move coordinator for your company, you’ll work with Artisan’s coordinator to determine the number and breakdown of label colors. Each color-coded label should be marked with clearly with the intended floor number and workstation number.
Based on your instructions, the floor plans you’ll provide for your new space will be marked with the corresponding color markers so each department’s furniture and boxes will be delivered where they need to be.
Every item to be moved needs a label. We’ll provide guidance on label placement so that when our movers look for the label, they’ll find them consistently applied in the same place.
